HOPE AND INSPIRATION

She grew up in the same small town as me, she and my father were high school sweethearts and even went to prom together. My sister as a teenager was her nanny in California for their three children. But I never really knew Mary. I knew of her, but never actually knew her.

I was taken back one day as I sat down to read my email. In Mary's email to me, she explained how she loved my work as a photographer and she was dabbling in it herself. I was beyond flattered. And when she mentioned she would love to come visit and learn from me one on one. My first reaction was, ME? She wanted to learn from me? But I emailed her back thanking her for her kind and genuine words and that I would love nothing more than for her to come visit while I fill her brain full of "my photography world".

Many weeks later, Mary arrived with flowers and fresh baked peach crisp. She obviously knew how to win my heart. We immediately made some tea and we sat down and chatted about life. She told me wonderful stories about my grandmother, my father and the very dress she wore to prom with my father. Within minutes she had her heart on her sleeve and words of inspiration unlike anyone I've ever known. She made my heart smile.

After spending a few days with Mary, I knew she entered my life for a reason and a purpose. She inspired me in more ways than I could even imagine. She left me hopeful for my future with me and my growing family.

Mary left an impact on my heart and I am forever grateful. Although I hated saying goodbye to Mary this morning, I know she left such wonderful inspiration with me that I will forever cherish.

It's great having people come into your life and make a difference. It's then embedded in you which will always make a difference.
